In Episode 92 of the Orange Cactus Coffee Podcast, Mike and I talked about all kinds of things during this episode where we go of script and wing it.
First topic on our radar is barrel aged coffee. My thoughts were motivated by an advertisement from Black Coffee Company in Missoula Montana. So we talked about the crossover of worlds between coffee and alcohol.
For our Coffee Experience, we talked about our first bad experience at Press Coffee and whether we should tell them about it or not. They have a new location in the Biltmore are of Phoenix. We went in the morning, and it was awesome. There was lots of coffee swag during that visit. We went in the afternoon, and it was terrible.
Kyle managed to kill the experience. Maybe he had a bad day, maybe he didn’t. But it was bound to happen sooner or later. The location is a little smaller and they don’t have a full kitchen. This brought up the question of whether cafes should carry food or not. Previously, I’ve been against food in the coffee shop, but now I’m leaning more towards offering food.
Not exactly a Coffee Experience, but a customer service experience at Arby’s deserved mentioning. I had a really bad experience getting milkshakes like the picture. It was pretty bad and humorous at the same time. Maybe I’m George Gobel, George of the Jungle, or Curious George. Not sure.
We talked about our trip to Las Vegas, and were planning on visiting eight different coffee shops: We’re looking at Makers and Finders Coffee, PublicUs, Avery’s Coffee, Sambalatte, Mothership Coffee, Grouchy John’s Coffee, Bad Owl Coffee, and Sunrise Coffee. We hope to get some Facebook Live episodes from some of them and you can look for some future write ups on them.
Lastly, I give a big shout out to the Breville Barista Express Espresso Machine. It’s been awesome.
