The Mall Cop.
This is a continuation from Episode 8 after the mall security officer went on with his rounds. We certainly weren’t rude to him, as we stopped recording and chatted with him for about 10 minutes, or so. Because I edited him out of all the recordings, I hope it didn’t come across that way.
Mike had a tough time getting back into the flow of our conversation, and I promised editorial changes that I didn’t make. It seemed fun to leave it all in, so I did. Once we got our flow back, we talked more about business and how to create a special experience and the struggles to monetize it.
Unknowingly, I summed up what Orange Cactus Coffee is all about when I told the barista at Peavine: “We are here to help people have a better coffee experience.” This was after we showed up with microphones, cameras, and ordered americanos and mochas at 7 am on a Sunday morning. Not their typical fare.
We talked a little bit about podcasting in general, which was a little surreal because we’d already progressed beyond that step by the time I finished editing the first podcast we recorded. I pitched the concept of going live with the show, and Mike wasn’t sold on it. Mike talked about editing videos and we went back and forth on what we wanted to accomplish with our YouTube channels.
About half way through, we went off the rails and got into more personal conversation. We let you know where that is so if you just want to enjoy the coffee content, you can cut it there. Hope you enjoy it.
