Mike and I recorded from Peavine Coffee again, and talked this time about the new V60 dripper from Hario I just ordered. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the whole kit– the dripper, the stand, and hundreds of filters. That led us into a conversation about stirrers, which material conducts heat the best: plastic, porcelain, metal, or glass, and what the competitors had to say about the issue at a championship.
After talking about beads of steam and if they are unappealing and whether there is self-evident truth in coffee, I talked about my trip to Satellite Coffee in Albuquerque, NM and the Black Velvet drink they offer. We also talked a lot about business, including the Dutch Bros. business model. Check this article out to see how different it is from traditional businesses.
Our conversation was interrupted by a mall security officer and we decided to cut the episode in half. It’s continued in Episode 9, and this time I didn’t lose the audio content to Garageband crashing.
