In Episode 50, Manny G, the man behind the recommendations, joins us for our show. Mike and I had a blast kicking it with Manny G and we learned so much from this gracious and caring human being.
Recording this episode was a big deal for me so I wanted to make it really special. That’s why we got Manny G. I didn’t know whether we would make it 50 or not- there’s been so many unknown factors over the last 5 months. But with your help and support, we’ve made it this far. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Manny G Recommends trying something new. Manny took his Aeropress and Lido 3 Hand grinder with him on a recent trip to California and committed to only using the little scooper that comes with the Aeropress to measure out his beans.
Manny went on to tell us about his passion for smoking meats in a smoker similar to the Big Green Egg, his passion for the game Destiny and the Destiny Reset Podcast. Manny told us how he built his own coffee roaster, and we came up with a new name for Ghostly Roaster- Magneto, the manipulator of metals. We talked about Manny G’s view on Teespring and community T-shirts. We also decided that we need to launch a campaign in the near future.
For our Coffee Review, Manny G talked about his visits to Klatch Coffee and the whole beans he bought for them. For our Coffee Experiences, Manny G not only went to Klatch Coffee, he also visited Rad Coffee in Ontario, CA.
Mike told us the story of the deaf frog. Not the ‘dead’ frog, but the deaf frog. I misheard what kind of frog it was the first time Mike told me this story. And by the way, a group of frogs is called an army of frogs.
Manny G’s Brew Tip of the Week concerns brewing with the Kalita Wave 185. Manny recommended making three different Waves in one sitting so you’ll know what the grind setting should be for that coffee you’re trying to dial in. Manny G gave us an update on his order of the Espresso Forge. Andre, from Espesso Forge, is trying to improve the machine and ran into some roadblocks with his manufacturer. Also from Espresso Forge, Manny G checked out the Kinu M38 hand grinder.
