In Episode 45, Mike and I talked about Coffee Experiences with Prescott Coffee Roasters and McCafe from McDonald’s. As we’ve said before on the Daily Ristretto- Ronald McDonald is coming for you. He knows you’ve not been giving the type of service your customers deserve, and when your espresso is lacking quality- he moves on in.
Manny G Recommended the Coffee Roasting Navigated Podcast. Though there are only three episodes as of this recording, each episode is chock full for great roasting nuggets. The show host documents her experiences using the Aillio Bullet R1 roaster. This Bullt is the same roaster Mike and I have had our wyes on for some time. We just may pull the trigger on it in the very near future. If you’re thinking of upping your game from a Hot Top, a Behmor, or an Air Popper, than the Aillio may be the one for you. you can get it in a 110 that plugs into your wall in the garage. As long as it’s on a 20 amp breaker, you’re good to go. Pretty incredible and sleek looking for a home device.
My daughter walked in while I was reviewing our show notes of ratios episode and was startled to discover that we actually have an outline we try to stick to. She said “You guys actually have topic? But you go off on rabbit trails a lot.” Yes. Both those are true. We have topics and we like to chase rabbits off the trails of our own thoughts to come to epically random conclusions. We are, after all, the show of many tangents.
Mike confesses his jealousy of the Daily Ristretto show but, ultimately, decides he won’t join us for the short, daily podcast show in the morning. We talked about the #Coast2CoastRoast coffee swap program. We received Three Ships Coffee from Evan, our Brew Pal from April, and it was outstanding. The whole experience was wonderful- from getting our brew pal to shipping and receiving coffee. It was fun and we’re going to stick with it. In honor of our attempt to find and produce the next Saguaro offering, Mike shares a story of the history of coffee in Costa Rica.
