The Ghostly Roaster hung out with us after his interview and recorded our regular show with us. That included Manny G Recommending a book by Rob Hoos titled Modulating the Flavor Profile of Coffee.
Ghostly Roaster shared his Coffee Experience at Pearland Coffee Roasters in Texas. I shared my coffee experience at Sunsational Coffee in Surprise, AZ.
Ghostly Roaster confessed to using a Whirly Blade grinder, but he had friends that intervened and led him away from bad grinders to the truth of the burr grinders. Still, he’s only pulled the trigger on a Cuisinart burr grinder that he picked up from Bed, Bath and Beyond. He said it’s working for him, so it’s gotta be good enough for his coffee journey. Better than a blade, anyways.
Ghostly Roaster gave us the Brew Tip of the Week, which was to try new recipes before you serve them at big social gatherings or holiday dinners. Making more coffee is not always as easy as doubling the recipe in your favorite dripper. Adjust the grind to make sure it doesn’t take 10 minutes to brew a few cups. Shoot for 3-4 minutes of extraction time, and master the process before you have your friends come over. Or else, they may just very well start reaching for that flavored creamer.
I sure hope you enjoyed the episode, even with the poor audio quality. That was all my fault and a less in interviewing.
