I struggled through a cold and sore throat, and Mike put up with me all the way to the end of the show. I talked about how I’m making an airpot of coffee every evening for my football families, and what that process looks like.
Manny G Recommends: Coast 2 Coast Roast, a coffee swap organization that allows you swap delicious, third wave, local roasted coffee with other caffeine addicts across the country. Their 4 step process includes 1. Match 2. Buy 3. Ship 4. Enjoy. We love this idea so much, that I already sent some whole bean Press Coffee to The Coffee Recipe after Bizzy Coffee didn’t come through for us. We join the swapping site, and decide it’s not in poor taste to send Orange Cactus Coffee out to our match and review what we get on the show.
Coffee Review: I tried to drink a canned Starbucks Double Shot, but after a sip I had to dump the rest of it. It was nasty. The can also reads that it contains espresso, but how do they make that much espresso to put into the millions of cans they produce every year? It’s likely an ‘espresso’ roast and not true espresso anyway. We also talk about the Firehouse Coffee blend I’ve been brewing for my football families at practice in the evening.
Coffee Experience: Speaking of Firehouse, Mike shared his disappointing coffee experience at one of our local cafes. Their service and product has been steadily declining, and it’s sad to watch the regression of service standards and coffee quality.
