Episode 13 Continued.
We pick up the second half of episode 13 where Mike and I podcast from Peavine Coffee. We started this portion talking about podcasting in general and then veered off into the world of coffee. What part does human interaction and performance play into the overall coffee drinking experience? We attempted to answer that question and looked into what makes coffee shops unique.
In the podcast I confirmed I wouldn’t be opposed to having an airpot and having an honor system money jar. Since then I’ve changed my mind and I think regardless of where our future takes us, we want to provide exceptional experiences that may not be for everyone.
We also talked a little about In-N-Out burgers, sabotage in youth football, and general business principles. Mike recommends Charles Duhigg’s book Smarter, Better, Faster and encourages you to ask yourself the “why” behind what you’re doing. We also get into what employee empowerment really means and the tension implementing it in the real life. I hope you enjoy these as we change the world one cup at a time.
