Coffee Review of Mushroom Coffee
For our Coffee Review, we drank Mushroom Coffee live and on the air by Four Sigmatic. The shroom coffee contained Chaga and Lions Mane mushrooms along with 100% Arabica instant coffee and Rhodiola Rosea. Not sure about the shrooms, but the Rhodiola is something I use quite frequently.
The taste was so-so, but by the end of our recording, I really felt something different. Their branding was incredible. From the shipping box to the product box, it was incredible. It’s supposed to be Paleo diet approved, but Mike and I don’t quite know what that means.
Crushing It Giveaway
As most of you know, we’re huge fans of GaryVee. We know his content is not for everyone as he uses some profanity and language that we wouldn’t use on our show. But the content he gives away far surpasses most other thought leader’s paid content, including his:
He gives so much away and has helped us so much, that we thought the least we could do is help support his book sales and show you our love at the same time. His latest book is called “Crushing It,” and we’re giving away 100 copies. He also has four other best selling books.
The truth bombs he drops in this book are so heavy that my local USPS delivery driver refused to even try and lift them. They plastered HEAVY stickers on them and made me come get them.
Blogging tips I should use
I recently applied for a part-time job to work with another author and podcaster I admire and have received a ton of value from- Jeff Goins. During this process, I learned a lot about formatting a blog post and coming up with a catchy title for the posts.
Frankly, I’ve always felt that making posts in this fashion was a little too ‘clickbait’ for me. But now i’ve changed the way I think about it and have settled on the idea that this is the way you get attention for your work. So, as long as you really give good value in the blog, it’s okay to be a little catchy in the title.
Mike and the Fellow Prismo
A brand that we have a huge crush on- Fellow, delivered another beautiful brewer that underperformed on the coffee level. the Prismo is an Aeropress attachment that promises express-type coffee without actually delivering on it.
Simply put, Mike didn’t like it. It has some benefits, but not really many over the regular inverted method for brewing with the Aeropress. None of the combinations he tried worked very well. He used the metal filter with and without paper filters in varying combinations.
Brew Tip of the Week
- Inverted method with pre-heat of vessel
- Pre-wet filters with paper on top of metal mesh in cap
- 20-22 grams of coffee in medium-fine grind
- 75 grams of water at 200-206 degrees for 35 second
- Stir 5 times
- Add water at 200-206 degrees to total of 220 grams
- Stir 3 times
- Add cap with filters
- Flip and press at 1:30 and press until 2:00
- Add 25 grams of water to final brew
