In Episode 100 of the Orange Cactus Coffee Podcast, Mike and I wanted very much to put something special out for you and ended with only ourselves. Hope you still enjoy it.
Coffee Blends. Perfect Daily Grind published an article called In Defense of Blends. James Freeman also talked about the same thing in his book The Blue Bottle Craft of Coffee. We like blends. But we also like Single Origin coffees. There should be a balance, but the vast majority of the coffee near me is all blends. The only cafe that serves a single origin coffee is Starbucks on the clover machine. That’s it. Now, we like blends. But they’re hard.
It’s hard to get a good blend consistently available year round. Achieving the same flavor with beans that replace others that are not available due to the growing season is challenging. We like putting single origin coffees in different categories to make it easier for consumers to understand what we serve is what they like. It’s all about you.
Sales. We’re looking at replacing our KingCup because we’ve made quite a few sales recently. Thank you so much for that. Mike has ordered some samples from Genuine Origin.
Packaging. We’re looking at updating our boxes with double sided printing. This is because Packlane now offers this service. We’d like to take advantage of that, but we used to put custom artwork in the boxes that only had printing on one side. We’ve been trying to use elements from Gary Vee’s The Thank You Economy.
Website. We’ve made some changes to our website, and we’ve appreciated the feedback. It’s now minimalist with a touch of blood orange color. The site is set up with BlueHost, running the Studio Press Genesis Framework on a Word Press platform. We want to start accepting cryptocurrency on our website, and it’s something we’re working on.
Thanks again for listening, and I hope this show provided you some value.
